One of my first professional design projects; I redesigned the logo for Reli Title.
Being a title company, I wanted to create a logo that showed they were reliable, but steer away from imagery including homes for a more abstract approach.
One of my first and favorite memories of beign a graphic designer so far: My design being on a real building!
Here is the brainstorming and variations I created before settling on a design I liked. A title company is something that you want to be able to rely (reli!) on. When I think of shapes that are reliable, I think of squares. Circles have so much fluid movement, like you could reach into the design and easily make it tumble with a push. A square is standing strong!
My father is a real estate agent, so I called him when making this design to ask what he looks for in a title company. He said that he looks for companies that care about the people they work with. So I wanted to add humanity back into the design. Luckily: the letter "i" looks like a head and torso! This is why the "i" is emphasized in this design.
More fun: Mockups I created for the business!
