HIGH TIDE TATTOO

This project was for the Branding class at Samford. We were told to come up with a business idea and create branding for said business. My business that I created is High Tide Tattoo, a tattoo parlor located on scenic highway 30-a, Florida. The area doesn't have it's own tattoo parlor, so the idea was to create something that was inviting for locals and tourists to visit, with branding consistent with many businesses on 30-a with "beachy" imagery.

With this project, I really wanted to branch out and use illustration in my design. I love typography and geometric shapes, but didn't want to feel like I need to rely on them. I also love when brands have little mascots (duolingo for example) and thought it would be so fun to have a seagul who gets tattoos.

I created a magazine ad, business card, and an animated social media post- shown below in that order.

Fun fact: I have this tattoo in real life - just on my back instead of my arm!
